Post 8: Production Report

In this post I will be describing how the shooting of our footage finalized; I will also be explaining what problems we had during the filming and what made the production better.
During the whole process of making the clip we had to shoot our footage twice in total; due to the amount of noise and people in the background during the first recording. We also decided to re-take the footage as the location we were firstly situated in did not look at all like a doctor’s surgery as the walls were tacky and covered in whiteboard marker and other materials. The props we used during the first shooting again did not meet our standard of how we thought the room would look and portray a doctor’s surgery; they were bland and made the desk look very empty.
We decided to shot the second piece in the new rooms that have been built off of the canteen (extended schools). This gave us a cleaner and newly decorated establishment; it also allowed us to borrow leaflets from the larger room to put on the doctors table. The filming was also improved as we were able to take many different shot from all angles. This gave us a wide range of footage to choose from to use in our production.
In think there are areas for improvement in the footage as we could have taken shots from more angles and a better establishing shot. I think the acting could also be improved as in some parts there are signs of laughter.
Due to the footage taken there are minimal edits that had to be worked on. These were the ending was to short in comparison to the non-diegetic music we had used over the top.
