Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From the preliminary task to the end of the full task, I have learnt how to fully conduct the shooting of a production and all the work I need to do in preparation. I have learnt how to capture the footage needed and in the correct order, I have also learnt how to import the footage onto Adobe Premiere Pro.
I have furtherly learnt how to add a voice clip and additional sound over the top of the main footage. I have also learnt how to adjust the sound levels and add special effects onto the production.
I realised that the preparation made in order for the footage to be taken is vital and is needed to make sure every part is filmed and all key props etc are ready for use.

How did you attract/address your audience?

We attracted our audience at the start of our opening sequence by saying what the production was called. This could draw in the attention of the audience by making them question who is kidnapped and why are they kidnapped, increasing the depth in the opening sequence.
The close up view of the girl getting kidnapped at the end of the production made the audience question again why is she kidnapped.
The view of the kidnapper from behind makes the viewer also ask themself Who is he? What does he look like? And Why is he doing this? this again attracts the audience as they want to find out all of the answers to these questions they ask themself.
We do not show where he takes her and what he does to her, this furtherly attracts the audience as they want to find out what happens to her and what happens around her.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for our production would be males more than females as according to the genre viewings by each gender, males watch more crime and mystery productions than females.
The age bracket we would be aiming to target our production at is 16+. This is as our production would be more popular and suited to an audience over the age of 16, this is due to the fact more people tend to understand films as they get older.
I would also aim our production at a target audience who are intested in crime, mystery and drama based films. this would attract a specific target audience and a certain group of people.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Our opening sequence will be made by the production company and edited by then as well. after making the production, they would then pass on the clip to the distribution company.
The distribution company is the conpany who will advertise and sell our production. The distribution company will do research into the best possible ways of selling the production and making it noticed to our target audiences.
I would chose Sony to distribute our production as they are a worldwide known conpany and deal with the distribution of millions of products and attract a large intrest. They also increase profits that are made because of the company name being on the product as well.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our production does not specifically focus on one main target group, we have tried to aim our production at a large age range to access most posible viewers. Our production is not for age below 16 but is aimed at all of the older age ranges.
The production is aimed mainly at the target group of males rather than females as the genre normally suits males more than females.
the social group it is aimed at would be males interested in mystery, drama, and crime. these means based on genre and gender we have a specific target audience but based on age we do not.Potencial AudiencePotencial Audience

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

• Genre

The Genres of our open sequence are Crime/Mystery/Drama. these all relate to the footage we have captured and made into our production. The crime genre relates to the whole production, the mystery genre relates to the enigma which we have used in our production of who the male is and the drama genre relates to the suspense we have created within the production. 

• Style Of Presentation

Our production is based on the kidnapping of a citizen (Charley) but from the point of view of behind the kidnapper. We have situated the camera behind the kidnapper to create a sense of mystery as to who the kidnapper is, we have also done this to draw in the attention of the audience and make then interested in watching the following footage. The close ups used are to signify the girls features and emotions. we have also used long shots to establish the location in which the footage has been captured.

• Style/Colour Of font

The style and colour of the font are plain white on a black background. Although the colour of white is not seen as a bright colour it stands out more than any other colour on black, it also fits in with the theme of a criminals lifestyle as it is not fun.

• Narrative enigma

There are a few enigmas used within our production. The main enigma is the question of What will happen to the girl? This question is not shown in the production but will be thought by the viewers as they know she is kidnapped but do not know what happens to her afterwards. One of the primary enigmas that are within our production is Who is the kidnapper? Again this is not shown in the production and is another thought of the audience.

• Introduction of characters

The characters are firstly introduced using a long shot to give a bit of background information of where they go to school; we then see a close up of the victim talking to a mate, this fully shows the victim's features. We only see the back of the kidnapper; this leaves the audience questioning who he is and what he looks like.

• Camera

The camera angles used are long shots, close ups and medium close ups. We used the long shots to establish the location in which the footage was being shot and the medium close ups and close ups to establish the characters features and emotions.
With camera movement, the main type we used was tracking as this helped fit into our genres. I found this out by doing research and finding other films along these genres that had used this technique.

• Sound

We have used a variety of different sounds within our production, we have the natural sound to help set the location and scenary. Then we have a sound clip of mysterious music to help display the theme of our production and create the mysterious feel to the opening sequence. We furtherly used a voice clip which we recorded as a police statement. This helped the audience realise what is following the opening sequence, but not in detail.

• Editing & Special Effects

We used cross disolves within our porduction to help tue opening sequence flow, we placed the cross dissolves at  the start and end of each title when split into different parts in the Adobe Premiere Pro software. This made the titles fade in and out and not sudden flashes.

• Mise-en-scene

The costumes we used were school uniforms to display the girls were school children. We had no props for out production and no artificial lighting was used throughout the production. The hair and make up was natural features.
